One, however, becomes hopeful that such issues will be investigated once scientists and meditation practitioners start to talk to each other with an open mind. (Although, sometimes I think it is hard to decide what is bunk and what is not!). ----- Archery for me is very personal and many times frustrating. Each shot is different and sometimes you don't know what is going to happen and sometimes you know your shot will be emotionally fulfilling before you even draw the arrow. Kyudo can be many things and the cool thing about it is that you can decide what it is for yourself.<BR/>...but this of course, is just own my perspective.

This is very interesting from a psychological pers...

This is very interesting from a psychological perspective. There has been some recent study of Tibetan(Mahayna) Buddist practices and cognitive psych theories. I was invited to a conference in Sweden sponsored by a cognitive psych group some time back that included both cognitive psych expert Ellis and Beck as well as the Dala Lama. The cost of the trip and seminar was a little to rich for my budget at the time. I think that much has already been written and maybe much to be discovered in regard to an emerging science of the mind that will maybe shed new light on the very ancient Far Eastern culture sphere and the efficacy of its methods for developing a higher consciousness in its adherents.
